If its a motorway (long) drive then you don't use clutch much anyway but
heavy clutch becomes a concern when you do many miles in local runs.

New cable might help just a little bit.
If you really want a lighter clutch feel, you should modify the system
to hydraulic.  But it's gonna cost you and you have to find the shop
that you can trust.
I think you should be able to get use to the current clutch feel.
I drive Mi16 everyday for about 100 kilometers and the clutch doesn't
bother me at all. It's fun rather.
