It is rather fortunate for us in Japan:
such inferior shops are in Japan too (needs whole lotta money,
less reliabilities, less customer-friendly, etc.etc.),
but on the other hand, there are quite a few "nice" shops,
even "awesome" shops :)
Such good shops try to explain to us (before actual repairs)
which parts are responsible for each trouble, why did it happen,
and it's most important that they show us several alternatives
to fix, from the cheapest way to the expensive way.
Another good point is that such shops have grave-yard,
where many disused Pugs are placed in order.
We can extract used parts from such disused cars,
and in turn the cost for repair gets cheaper.
Anyway, we have several options other than authorized dealers.
One of such Pug-specialized shop with nice mechanics would be
Auto-Pois-Rouge, where many of us here visit quite often.
Actually it's a nice shop.

Of course there are another nice shops around in Japan.

Hmmm, unfortunately I don't know such shop with web site (anyone?)
But if you have FAX or e-mail, you can directly contact to
various parts shops in Europe.
David-san, you remember the post to 405jp list,
which dealt with our first attempt to import parts from Europe.
We didn't take a long period from price estimation to getting the parts.
I mean Gariraya-san's posts below:
http://peugeot405.org/ml/archives/405jp/msg00601.html
http://peugeot405.org/ml/archives/405jp/msg00602.html
In short, it seems to be rather easy (and fast) than we had worried.
Maybe we will try another imports in the near future :)
